O.A.R.'s rock climbing and rappelling classes are a great way for participants to gain self esteem and trust in a team-training atmosphere. Our outpost is located on a limestone bluff with climbing routes and bouldering problems suited to teach technical rock climbing. Harnesses, helmets, climbing shoes, and hardware are provided to conquer the 45 foot high bluff. Classes available are a `Once off the Bluff Rappel and a half day rappelling and climbing class. A typical half day class covers climbing and rappelling techniques, safety instruction, and gear maintenance.
O.A.R.'s Introduction to Rock Climbing in Tennessee and Rappelling will be conducted at the Ocoee Outpost. We have a 30-foot rock climbing wall and 45-ft natural limestone rappelling cliff with numerous bouldering areas for training. Participants will become familiar with the techniques of rock climbing and safety procedures. All equipment is provided. Participants will need to dress according to the weather, and need to wear outdoor shoes. Minimum group size is 4 and there is no maximum. Classes may need to include one or more Orientation class to fulfill time requirements.
